What are the odds...

...that when I show up to Vincent Mall, East London (SA, not UK), camera in hand, looking for some fashionable people to snap pics of for my blog, lo and behold: the mall is having a fashion show. It's not exactly designer threads - it's Woolworths and Daks Evolution. There is, nonetheless, a runway. There are models. I am the only pro-looking photographer in the vicinity. I am therefore satisfied.

Like any other trip out of town, it starts with making a royal mess of my bedroom. Following that, I allow Mango's ads and runway images for spring/summer '10 to inspire me.

And then there was fashion...

 

These are the Woolworths looks. It was a simple show; 'Models' youth modelling agency organised it to get their models some exposure. This girl (above, #3) is like, endlessly tall...

These are the Daks Evolution looks, which kind of disappointed me. The models were okay though. This girl (above #2) really worked the runway well. Don't you think these two (above, #3) look like twins? This photo doesn't do them justice; in person, the resemblance is uncanny!

They even had a juniors show! Isn't this little diva adorable?!

 BTW, East London now has its own Ftv spot at the Hemingways Mall. It has no fashion crowd though, so I wonder how they'll keep the place afloat. I patiently await my first fashion show afterparty invite. Of course, I have to get invited to a fashion show first...
